| 2003 - Hobie Fleet 123 | |
| Race Scoring System for Hobie16's | |
| Fleet Scorer: Patrick Renschen - 314-776-2173 | |
| 1. Within a fleet, a Skipper or the Skipper's co-owner, shall qualify by sailing in at least 50% of the races completed in a given series. | |
| 2. The Skipper shall receive points
for each complete race sailed. Points are awarded as follows: |
|
| First Place = 3/4 points Second Place = 2 points Third Place = 3 points etc. = 1 point/place |
|
| DNF = Number of finishes plus one DSQ = Number of starters plus two |
|
| 3. Final placement in the series is determined by the number of points each Skipper has accumulated in that series. Points are accumulated only for each Skipper's minimum number of races needed to qualify. All other races will be counted as "throw outs". | |
| 4. Ties are broken by the number of times one Skipper has placed lower (second being "lower" than third) than the other. For this determination only, there shall be no throw outs and all races in that series, which both participated in, are counted. If a tie still exists, the Skipper who placed lower than the other, the last time they both participated in a race of that series, shall be the winner of the tie. | |
| 5. Unless otherwise notified, the RC and the racing fleet's scorekeeper shall assume that the Skipper registered to the sail number displayed in a race is the Skipper sailing that number in that race. | |
| 6. Hobies sailed by other than the registered Skipper or the Skipper's co-owner shall DNF in accordance with the rules of CSA. | |
| 7. A DSQ resulting from a violation of Hobie Class Association equipment rules and/or crew weight rules may not be used as a "throw out". | |
| 8. Participants in regattas may receive credit for CSA series races as noted in the CSA handbook. Credit will be given in the form of a OTR (Out of Town Regatta). OTR's will be counted as a "throw out" unless the skipper needs the score to qualify for a CSA series. In that case, the OTR will be the skippers average score for all CSA races participated in during that series. | |
| Note: To receive credit for an out of town regatta the participants must skipper a Hobie 16. Crewing or racing a boat other than a Hobie 16, will not be counted as participation in said regatta. Additionally, it is the skippers responsiblity to notify the fleet scorekeeper of their participation prior to the end of the CSA series in which the regatta is to be counted. | |
